BPSC 68 Mains Examination: Started from May 12, 2023

BPSC 68th Mains Examination started from Friday, May 12, 2023. A total of 3444 candidates appeared for the BPSC 68 Mains who have cleared their BPSC 68 Prelims held on February 12, 2023. The exam will be conducted from May 12, 2023 to May 18, 2023. It is advised to the candidates that they must report to the venue 2 hrs before the start of the Examination. The Entry will start from 7:30 A.M. There are a total of 7 exam centres in Patna where BPSC mains examination will take place. The entry will be barred an hour before the start of the exam.

Total Seats in BPSC 68

There are a total of 324 seats in BPSC 68. More than four lakh aspirants have applied for the BPSC 68 and 2,58,036 candidates appeared in the 68th preliminary examination. The result of the BPSC 68 Mains Exam will be published on July 26, 2023 and the interview will be started from August 11, 2023. The final result will be published on October 9, 2023. The dates are as per the calendar released by the commission on its official website.

New Rules Starting from BPSC 68 Mains

From BPSC 68 Mains Examination Optional subject is made qualifying. It means a candidate has to score a minimum qualifying marks to pass in the optional subject. The marks obtained in optional subject will not be added to make the final result. The minimum number of marks that a candidate has to score depends on the category of the candidate. For a General category candidate he is required to score 40% in the optional subject to qualify in the subject.

Another point is that the optional subject has been made an MCQ type of paper. Prior to BPSC 68 the optional paper was a subjective paper and the candidates were required to write lengthy answers to fetch good marks in the examination. Read This to know more in detail.

From BPSC 68, Essay paper of 300 marks is added in the Mains examination in which the marks obtained by the candidate will be added to the final merit score.

The questions will be printed on the Answer Booklet. No additional copies will be provided .This is also a new addition from this time.

A separate printed Question booklet may be provided to the candidates as per reports.

Recently, the commission has also taken disciplinary action on the candidates who spread rumours about the exam. Also, if any candidate is found with the barred items such a electronic items, mobile phones etc they may be barred from taking the examination again for a certain period of time.

Time Table of BPSC 68 Mains

The BPSC 68 Mains Exam is starting from Friday, May 12, 2023. The exam will be started from 9:30 AM and will end on 12:30 P.M. Aspirants will be given entry to exam hall between 7.30 am and 8:30 am.. General Studies paper 1 will be held in Friday, May 12. General studies paper II on May 17 and optional paper will be held on May 18.

There are a total of seven examination centres formed in Patna for BPSC 68 Mains written examination. The centres are Patna Collegiate School, BN Collegiate, Bankipur Girls School, Gardanibagh Girls School, Patna High School Gardanibagh, Fulwarisharif High School, Kamala Nehru Girls High School.

  • Birsa Munda Movement
  • Indigo Revolt
  • Patna Kalam Painting
  • Development of caves in eastern Indian in ancient time.

2. (a) Discuss the factors for the emergence of Indian National Movement. How it gave direction to freedom struggle?

(b) Discuss the growth of colonial technical education in Bihar under various schemes of British Rule. Critially analyse its impact.

3. Analyse the development of temples in North India in ancient time.

Describe Rabindranath Tagore’s idea of society and culture.

Section II

4. Write short notes on the following:

(c) Discuss the right based e-service delivery scenario of Bihar.

5. (a) What are the draft regulation announced recently by university grants commission to open the door for foreign universities to set up campuses in India. What prospects do you visualise about their impact on higher education in India? Do you think it will be a game changer? Give arguments in support of your answer.

Next BPSC Exam

Information about the next BPSC examination is released in the new BPSC calendar released by the commission. The next BPSC CCE examination is BPSC 69 which is scheduled to be held as per calendar as follows:

  • BPSC 69 Prelims Examination- September 30, 2023.
  • BPSC 69 Mains Examination- December 9, 2023 to December 16, 2023.
