Girl candidates who cleared the BPSC Prelims Examination will get Rs. 50000/- from the BIhar Government according to media reports. The amount of Rs 50000/- will be given to support the BPSC prelims qualified girl candidates for preparation of their BPSC Mains and Interview.
Women and Child Development Department of Bihar has prepared a list of such 937 girl candidates who are going to receive the amount. A total of 1259 prelims qualified girl candidates have applied for claiming the amount but 937 eligible candidates have been selected by the department. The rest 322 candidates were deemed ineligible. The total amount to be given among the eligible candidates stands out to be Rs. 46,85,50000 as stated by the department.
This is the first time in the state that the girl candidates who have qualified for BPSC Prelims are being given the award of Rs. 50000. Previously only girl candidates from the state who used to qualify in UPSC Prelims have been given an amount of Rs. 100000/- to support them in their further preparation of the UPSC Mains and Interview.
It is to be noted that many candidates who prepare for civil services (Central or States) attend various coaching institutes situated in the state or Delhi. These institutes take hefty fee for preparing candidates for the civil services examinations. Candidates may get discouraged to prepare further after prelims due to their inability to submit the fee and other costs incurred in the preparation of civil services. The amount is given by the Bihar Government to encourage the girl candidates to come forward and prepare for the Government Services.
After clearing UPSC Prelims in 2021, 72 girl candidates from Bihar got Rs. 100000 each. And in 2022, 34 such candidates received their reward amount.
The amount is to be given to such pre qualified girl candidates who are from Bihar state and are not receiving any benefits from the government.
