According to the California Lotto, a man chose to receive the $997.6 million lump sum payment after winning the highest lottery jackpot in the history of the game.

He bought the winning ticket in Altadena, California, early in November, matching all six drawn numbers

According to the officials his ticket had the Powerball number 10 and the combination 10-33-41-47-56

"As much as I am shocked and ecstatic to have won the Powerball drawing, the real winner is the California Public School system" the man said in a statement

According to sources in the media, the reward would also be donated to California schools based on average daily attendance statistics

The ticket was sold at a retailer Joe’s Service Center, and he may receive $1 Million for selling the ticket, the officials said

As per California laws, the details of the winner such as his name, the store from where he bought the ticket  and winning parameters must be disclosed at its a part of public disclosure rules
